Miami/Atlanta based dead prez made their first landing in Toronto as a duo in over 10-years at The Great Hall, a co-presentation by Manifesto and The Academy. Anticipation among concert goers could be felt building throughout the night, with an outstanding debut but new Toronto artist collective Freedom Writers, and host DJ duties by the Never Forgive Action crew. A mixture of hip hop heads and politically motivated folks filled the room, to witness likely one of the most politically outspoken hip hop groups of all time, with the exception of Public Enemy. M-1 and stic.man provided a great discussion with the Manifesto TV team earlier that day, touching on many topics addressed within their music, and experienced by the group in their everyday lives. Speaking not only for themselves, but equally speaking for "the people".
