Located on the Kentucky/Virginia border, the Russell Fork River has 3 sections to paddle from beginner to advanced...the Gorge section is a serious class IV run at low water, go with someone who knows the lines your first time down!
This is a beautiful part of southern Appalachia. Please support the local economy whenever possible!

  3. Big Creek has 2 sections, a solid class V upper section and the easier class III+/-IV lower section. Non-stop whitewater for 2 miles, Lower Big Creek is a Smokies classic and a good stepping stone to class IV creeking at water levels around 3'.

  4. This is my maiden voyage kayaking with the Go Pro HD cams. I shot this footage to use when teaching post production video editing. We will problem solve in three different editing applications, Final Cut, Premiere and Avid to see which offers the best workflow in post.

This was a great day on the river. The Go Pros offer revolutionary angles and sharp footage. The audio isn't too bad either, considering the mic is wrapped in a waterproof housing.

Sorry for the lackluster audio music track. The next post will have more engaging tunes.
