1. The Common Core Standards are described as having three characteristics. Today you will be watching Assistant Professor, Darrell Blanks, from the Fresno Pacific University School of Education explain one representation of rigor. Rigor is not a list of disconnected tricks. Rigor in this context means that the math is addressed in a deeper manner. Professor Blanks explains, "I address math ideas in the context of procedures, concepts, and problem solving." This brief lesson is gong to look at multiplication that can be used across the grades that supports coherence at a deeper level of math represented through the array.
