A short Documentary I created in 2010 with the help of my fellow film student Marcello Ianno and the boys down at Malvern Health and Fitness. The film centers around interviews with three men whose lives have been influenced and shaped by their obsession with the martial arts. The men include a retired Mauy Thai fighter Ting Anan, another a young mixed martial artist and jiu jitsu practitioner Daniel Keane and the last a man who ultimately chose the path of teaching over fighting in Jeremy Ta'Kody. The documentary was aimed at ultimately answering the question of why some of us choose a life of fighting.
Burn Bright is a short film of a young man, Mark, trapped in the tragedies of his past, where his memories begin to invade his present reality. During a party he reluctantly attends things spin out of control and he must finally come to terms with the trauma and tragedy of his past.
This is the teaser for the short film coming soon (November) which will make festival rounds in early 2013. The film was shot using a mix of Arri Alexa and 5D footage taken within the Swinburne University campus and the suburb of Malvern.
Directed by Nick Jaquinot, shot by Hanshen Sudderrudin, edited by Dom Giuca and starring Adrian Auld.
