Creative Edinburgh member, Peter is Director of Be Seated. An upholsterer with 30 years experience, Peter Holmes produces bespoke furniture at his Leith workshop and showroom. A member of the Association of Master Upholsterers, Peter’s in depth knowledge of traditional skills means each new piece is handmade not mass produced, making the Be Seated collection completely individual and finished to the highest standard of craftsmanship.
Creative Edinburgh member, Gavin is Director of Woodside Parker Kirk Architects. Gavin has experience in residential, educational, cultural and historic projects including the conservation of listed buildings. Their portfolio of work includes successful projects for public and private sector clients including local authorities and housing associations as well as private developers and individual residential clients.
Creative Edinburgh member, Fi Scott is Director and Founder of Make Works, an independent design-led organisation that facilitates, celebrates and debates making, manufacture and material. Make Works are interested in local production, machines, digital technology and craftsmanship.
Creative Edinburgh member, Devon Walshe is an entrepreneur and publisher. He is the founder of the The Journal, an award winning media platform for students and young people. He is also a member of Sync, a Scotland wide innovation programme supporting technology in the arts. He is interested in the media, technology and innovation.
Creative Edinburgh member, Olaf is Co-Director of Born To Be Wide. Born To Be Wide is a Community Interest Company based in central Scotland which stages regular music business seminar and social events for anyone involved or interested in the Scottish music scene. Since 2009 they have hosted seminars covering subjects such as How To Get A Gig, Unveiling The Mind Of A Music Journalist, A&R, Music Festivals, Music PR, Record Sleeve Design, How To Get On Radio, Music Management and Booking Agents. In addition to the regular events, Born To Be Wide hosts Wide Days, an annual two-day convention and showcase event which takes place in Edinburgh in April, as well as delivering seminars for various other music industry events including GoNorth.
