This is a story of one man's 28 year journey to own a Porsche 930. Jim Goodlett's 1984 grey market 930 Turbo is a beautiful example of a classic Porsche 911, but it also represents the accomplishment of a goal he set for himself as a young man who could only dream of one day owning this supercar.
Many thanks to Jim Goodlett for sharing his time and his story.

This is the third episode in a series I'm working on about cool cars and the stories behind them. I'm currently working on more episodes and am looking for any interesting car stories. If you have one, I'd love to hear about it! You can contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you like Cars I See and would like to see more, please leave me a tip! All of my tips will go directly into producing more episodes. Thank you.

It was just my brother and I travelling to the Nürburgring with two cams, four lenses and a tripod on the backseat. Intention was to capture the atmosphere, the tension and the incredible challenge for teams and drivers. Back home, the two of us did all the editing, sound design, color correction and artwork.
The whole thing starts with "Hoppipolla!" by Sigur Ros. Then phenomenal Hecq with "Dayout". I also used "Holler" and "FdK". Hecq is incredible good to cut on and does a lot of sounddesign - check out his page... hecq.de Cinematic Orchestra leads into the night with "Reel Life". I used also Architect with "Fast Lane" and "Pissed in the Morning". Télépopmusik with mellow "Don´t Look Back" for the night. Ben Folds Five "Brick" at 6 A.M. Last track is Gonzales with "The Tourist". Guess that´s it as far as I remember...
Monterey California, August 2010: The Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid made its driving debut on
a closed road in Monterey California, just days prior to its appearance at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
After being shipped over from Germany by plane, engineers handed the keys of the new 918 Spyder Hybrid to Porsche AG Design Chief Michael Mauer. The car drove under its own power which comes from the mid mounted 3.4 liter V8 out of the RS Spyder as well as an all electric mode which powers just the front
