Wotever Talks: Jamology with Butch Institute
All we ever wanted to know about Jam making, as in What is a Rolling Boil, Can one use brown sugar instead... and what does wife Kate do on weekends when Emma is away ;-)
'I'm very excited to be giving a talk at Wotever on 'Jamology', something I really enjoy. Some people may know that I'm the proprieter of The Butch Institute and I'm passionate about jams, jellies, chutneys, relishes, you name it. Unfortunately, I can't give a practical jam making demo at the RVT. However, I can have a hands on session showing you what basic kit you need to lay your hands on before having a go yourself, tell you a little bit about the 'ology' behind what makes jam work and then talk you through how to make a batch of your very own raspberry jam. By the time you leave you will be certified level 1 jamologists!' Emma, The Butch Institute

This was recorded at Bar Wotever January 2013
Talk number two was a lighthearted and informative talk about Bear Culture, presented by Justin the WonderBear
What goes on in the woods - an introduction to Bear culture
Bears, chubs, wolves, otters and goldilocks, somewhere between a fairytale cast list and a David Attenborough documentary...bear culture can be a bit of confusing.
Justin Varney, community activist and co-chair of Southwark's LGBT Network, will lead us into the woods to explain the ins and outs of Bears, Chubs and Cubs and everything in between with bear bingo and added brownies!
Wotever Talks - Talks about what makes us tick! at Bar Wotever Tuesdays RVT London
MIchael Brown is a treasure who started coming to Bar Wotever in 2012, and eventually he also started to share stories on stage, ramblings of LGBT History and personal meet ups. He is good on the mic and a natural storyteller, with no script for his talk, more of an loose idea what he is about to talk about at the event. He is with us on stage First Tuesday every Month now, and he has become a very popular and loved historian and gentleman, always on the look out for romantic and rough sex.... enjoying our open mind re flings and stories of sexual encounters... Plus he is a dirty gossip who have much to tell. Michael Brown, born 1932 and active in London's gay history since the 50's. A true Treasure!
Wotever seXtravaganza became a very sexy evening indeed - with a mix of great music, moving images and great performers we had an evening filled with dreams and flirts, love and exploration.
Created by Wotever Crew in London November 2009. We all were mega inspired by the films Cabaret and Shortbus and created an homage to the Weimar Republic Bois and grrls!
