  2. Dragons Look To Settle Score

An all or nothing finale with the Purples

Last week the Warren Central Dragons (11-1) did what they had to do in the second round of the Russell Athletic Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl Championship Series. Survive and advance. They did that against Graves County with a 21-14 win over the (9-2) Eagles. (SEE HIGHLIGHT VIDEO BELOW)

Warren Central Quarterback Michael had a near perfect game going 15 for 19 through the air for 282 yards passing and 1 TD.

Dragon junior running back Rondell Green scored three times, twice rushing the ball and one pass reception in the end zone to complete his hat-trick.

The win against Graves County set up a rematch against cross town rival, and number one ranked 5A Bowling Green Purples. The Purples cruised to a 31-17 win over Christian County.

  3. Purples Dominate Dragons with 3rd Shutout this Season

Once again, the Warren Central Dragons and Bowling Green Purples faced each other as ranked opponents. In front of a packed house at Warren Central, the Purples shutout the Dragons 24-0.

Getting momentum early in a rivalry game is always a key. The Purples received the ball to start the game, and scored on a touchdown run by Blue Tisdale. “The best we played offensively might have been the first drive,” said Purples head coach Kevin Wallace.

The Purples and Dragons have both relied heavily on their ground game this season. BGHS established a strong rushing game with the first drive of the game, but the Dragons couldn’t find any room to run against the Purples defensive line. The Dragon offensive line couldn’t hold back the Purples, who got in the backfield for two sacks. Warren Central quarterback Michael Bush was given no time to throw in the pocket, and threw one interception, and only completed four passes.
