  2. Matthias learned about the internet as a place to put content into. So he became a writer and web designer. Then he quickly got sucked into programming and databases. Things got even more exciting and rewarding with Ruby, PostgreSQL and Vim. Nowadays, he freelances and maintains the Linux boxes for Rails apps using Puppet.

    There are situations in which you need to know more about an error. One of the standard tools in such situations is logging. With the presence of the production.log it's tempting to just pour messages in there.

    Now you have a bigger log and put that burden on the whole team.
