Winrich Sturies is a legendary violin maker living in Salzburg, Austria. His approach to life follows the unique feature of his handicraft, that no machine can actually figure out how to shape a piece of wood perfectly in order to create this special sound. Winrich's short film illustrates his passion for creativity and the lifetime responsibility that creating instruments for professional musicians brings along.
MADE IN SAZBURG is an ongoing short film series that features artisans who transfer their unique approaches to life into their handicrafts.
It started as an idea about a lonely robot who sells ice cream. In order to survive in a severe reality he recreates an imaginary world where he lives every day, like he did during the best time of his life.
