  2. DATE : FEBRUARY 2013

PROJECT : Video mapping on a cubic structure + backgrounds during the book signings by 30 authors during La « Foire du Livre 2013 ».

The Imaginarium : a sensory experience.

The atmosphere of the structure was different according to the author on stage. Between these sessions we could see a set based on experimental machines, organic elements ... on the music of the DJ Karl M.
Project designed and orchestrated by Fabrizio Borrini, artist and author of comics, in collaboration with Roberto Cassol, interior architect and designer of the Book Fair in Brussels.

  4. A visual instrument for creating and controlling organically moving particles with a swarm behaviour.
During the 'Visual Synthesisers' Workshop by Ludwig Zeller in February 2014, Cyrill and I took Daniel Shiffman's 'Flocking' Sketch as basis for creating a visual instrument. The swarm behaviour was changed, the visual style and shape were matched to the music, a trail effect was added and mostly the code was adapted to be controllable with rotary knobs and push buttons - based on the Arduino platform with Firmata applied. The resulting live perfomance was captured on the video above.

  5. Paleodictyon
A project by Simon Geilfus, Yannick Jacquet and Thomas Vaquié
Centre Pompidou Metz, France, October 6th 2012

    > You can go and watch an edit of the piece at vimeo.com/60116768
    > Go and experience Paleodictyon - The App, a digital counterpart of the physical installation: antivj.com/paleodictyon_app (google chrome browser)

Loosely inspired by the work and research of deep-sea expert Peter A. Rona, the piece abolishes notions of scale by contrasting micro-architecture with human construction.
Fascinated by the marks left by unknown creatures called Paleodictyon Nodosum, he offers the hypothesis that these hexagonal structures are designed in order to cultivate bacteria.

A modern day Captain Nemo, Peter A. Rona wanders relentlessly across the seabed looking to discover these living creatures, of which we only know of their mysterious geometrical makeup, reminiscent of the Centre Pompidou’s hexagonal shape frame.

Artistic direction by Simon Geilfus, Yannick Jacquet, Thomas Vaquié
    Producer Nicolas Boritch
Visual content by Simon Geilfus, Yannick Jacquet, Romain Tardy
    Music composed by Thomas Vaquié
