Canon Philippines lent us a pre-production model of the 7d. We got it Tuesday 6pm and had to return it the following Thursday at noon.

We wanted to document something truly Filipino and came up with the idea of shooting a "Perya". There really is no direct equivalent in English. It's not as grand as a carnival, not as permanent and posh as an amusement park, there are no pumpkins nor cows in competition like a country fair. It is what it is - a Perya.

Shot in 1920 x 1080 at 24p. Transcoded to XDcam codec. Edited in Premiere Pro CS3.

    No color grading was utilized.

    No additional lights used.

  3. Fourth in the unintentional "series", after Sofia, Dublin and San Francisco.

This time it's Venice Beach in LA that is the focus.

Very different from the other 3 in that all the sound and music was recorded on location using just the simple Rode Video Mic plugged straight into the 7D.

New version graded with Magic Bullet Looks.

More on my blog at philipbloom.co.uk. Where I talk about what gear I used to including lenses, filters and support.

  4. A test to see how I could do timelapse for drastically changing light over a long period of time, filmed from my hotel window in The Clift in San Francisco.

I too one photo every 20 seconds remotely with the intervelometer and it was auto iris, auto shutter and auto iso. Would it would or would it be too jumpy?

I think it works just fine, but in future I would have done just auto shutter as would have done the job for me the same and been cleaner at night.

Music is Ghosts by Nine Inch Nails.

Shot using the Canon 7D, a Sigma 10mm fish eye and the Canon power supply for the 5dmkII/7D

  5. I love my timelapse and this is the first time I have used the still function of the 7d (or 5d for that matter) for this.

    It's really easy to do.

Taken at Lido Key, Florida using a Sigma 10mm fish eye

Check out my blog on how to do it.
