Trailer for a retrospective documentary made on the 30th anniversary of the 1981 Summer riots. Disturbances which shook the British state and establishment to the core. St Paul's. Moss Side. Brixton, Nottingham. Leeds and Handsworth all experienced civil unrest... and Toxteth in Liverpool, unique for the first recorded use of CS Gas on mainland Britain, and the ethnic mix of people rioting. Black and white youth, people of all ages and persuasions, rebelling against 'stop and search,' discrimination, and heavy-handed policing in a predominantly multi-ethnic suburb of Liverpool.

In the ensuing chaos, a young man was knocked down and killed by a police vehicle. Joe Farrag, who was involved in the melee that night, recalls the events.
