Year Eight students, under the guidance of their Drama and English teachers and in partnership with AE Productions conceived, wrote, designed, acted in and produced their own film as a special project. The result was highly commendable and involved the entire year group in a variety of roles in front of and behind the cameras. As a result of such work with students, Andrew was proposed for BAFTA membership in 2010.
Andrew has taught filmmaking in both primary and secondary schools and has successfully produced many DVD projects including promos, documentaries, anniversaries and fictional pieces. The students have enjoyed going through the entire film making process from scratch and always found a role to suit their own individual personalities.
AE Productions has recorded several large musical and dramatic productions for a large girl’s school in the South East. Clips from the performances are being used for the construction of a 125th anniversary DVD.
AE Productions recorded a Year Five group production of the premier of Duncan Lamont’s Mr Benn, The Musical. The recording was greatly appreciated by the author, David Mckee and Duncan Lamont himself who described the recording as “absolutely charming”.
