  2. The Petit Grepon is one of the easiest climbs on the fifty classic climbs of North America list. The hardest part...actually finding the right rock. At least, that was the hardest part for us. Enjoy this Colorado Classic.

  3. The North Ridge of Mt. Stuart in Central Washington is a true classic. High quality granite from bottom to top, loads of mountain goats, and some good friends make this experience not to be missed.

  4. Mt Fairweather's (15,325') Carpe Ridge is located in Southeast Alaska. From the landing strip on the Fairweather Glacier the route ascents nearly 11,000' of technical terrain.

Watch as Mark & Janelle Smiley, and Jed Porter climb this classic route. Its a big one.

  5. See what Mark and Janelle Smiley took on their failed attempt on the Cassin Ridge on Denali. A big part of what to bring, is what you leave behind. They stripped everything down to the bare minimum to keep the packs light and moving fast.

This equipment list applies to many multi-day cold weather alpine ascents. The items that change from climb to climb are the rope, and climbing equipment qualities. The clothing layering system and bivy gear stays pretty much the same.

Missing from the video is the cooking and food. They brought a jet boil 1-liter pot, a Soto windpro stove, a medium and small sized fuel canisters, Alpine Aire dinners (2 servings/person/night), Oatmeal w/ protein powder and dried fruit, meat and cheese bagels for lunch, and 10 power food snacks/person/day (ie- gel, powerbar, honey stinger chews).
