Given four stars by The Entertainer, called "unforgettably, unbelievably great," by the Gazette Times and "a once in a lifetime film," by the Democrat Herald, In Pursuit of Panama is gaining acclaim on the festival circuit and will be available soon.
One of the first things I noticed in Panama were the incredibly colorful buses on the road. My driver, Franklin, who does not speak much English, pointed to this bus and said "transporte publico." Really, I thought, that garishly painted bus is public transportation? I saw others during the day, each more exotic looking than the last. Later, I found out the public bus system in Panama City consists of individuals who own their own buses, or a small business person who owns a fleet and rents them to drivers. Bus owners, it would appear, take their decoration seriously. I'd like to take a series of photos of the public buses of Panama. For now, this small snippet of video will have to do.
