Work in progress that I started during my internship at the Music Technology Group (MTG), at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, in Barcelona. Based on a Tangible User Interface (TUI) using reaTIVIsion, this work is a geometric generative system that is controlled by the movement on the surface. Each object on the table has a different functionality. Some objects produce forms and others act like tools to shape the forms. There are tree kinds of tools for now: barrier, magnet and eraser. The forms can change in size (spinning the objects), in color (by moving the fingers around the objects), and also change the movement of the particles/forms (by changing object movement velocity (object agitation)).
First iteration of Noise Pong, developed by Wout and me. Was designed for a reacTIVision table. If everything turns out right, we will get two tables, and play a performance with them. Built with Processing, PD, and Ableton Live. (And Love)
Another fun test. This is using Bullet Physics Library (integrated into Sidefx houdini). It is a simulation of 125.000 implicit cubes being impacted by a bullet flying at 2000 m/s. the simulation is running at 15.000 fps and 30 substeps per frame.
This simulation was more of a test just to see how the simulator would handle it. I ran just over 900 frames of it and rendered it in Mantra (Houdini's renderer).
The color comes from the sum of all impacts on each cube :)
