A short history of good ideas
Professor Sandy Halliday
Gaia Research
Sandy highlights ideas that have emerged during her lifetime that, if taken seriously, might have directed us towards sustainable development. She addresses natural and financial capital, pollution, work and disaffection and notes, despondently, that the most important ideas are considered counter-cultural values. From an engineering perspective, she makes the technical case for a shared value set that avoids destructive testing of the planet.
