This channel includes all the videos produced between May and December 2013 to show both, the order in and the techniques of Aikido Kyu level examinations for Hitoriwaza and Kumiwaza (Ki-Aikido, Ki No Kenkyukai Association Internationale).
The examination criteria of Doshu Yoshigasaki leave some space for interpretation, especially when it comes to the question wether a technique should be performed from standing, in the movement or both.
These videos shows the interpretation of Markus Schein (Kassel) and Heike Howein (Nürnberg).
Further more we felt free of slightly altering the official examination criteria concerning Shikko: Rather than examining Shikko forward in the 5th and Shikko backward in the 3rd and having no Shikko at all in the 4th Kyu, we decided to examine a preliminary Shikko practice in the 5th Kyu, put Shikko forward into the 4th and backward into the 3rd Kyu.
In our movie clips, all counting is performed by the examinees. However, in our dojo practice, until the 3rd Kyu the counting for Hitoriwaza is done by the examiner. From the 2nd Kyu on the examinee counts. The “Hajime” (start) and “Yame” (stop) indications in Hitorigake (2nd Kyu) and Futarigake (1st Kyu) are given by the examiner.
