1. A short film following the recreation of the Pablo Fanque circus poster that inspired John Lennon to write 'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite' for the Beatles album 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'. Using the traditional methods of wood engraving and letterpress printing, Peter Dean and his team of experts bring to life Lennon's poster.

  2. Jonas Mekas - Diaries, Notes and Sketches also known as WALDEN
    1969, 180mins, 16mm color, available on VOD vimeo.com/ondemand/walden
and published on DVD through re-voir.com

Poet and hero of the American counter-culture, Jonas Mekas, born in Lithuania in 1922, invented the diary form of film-making. Walden, his first completed diary film, an epic portrait of the New York avant-garde art scene of the 60s, is also a groundbreaking work of personal cinema.

With: Jonas Mekas, P. Adams Sitney, Tony Conrad, Stan Brakhage, Carl Th. Dreyer, Timothy Leary, Baba Ram Dass, Gregory Markopoulos, Allen Ginsberg, Andy Warhol, Jerome Hill, Barbet Schroeder, Jack Smith, Edie Sedgwick, Nico, Velvet Underground, Ken Jacobs, Hans Richter, Standish D. Lawder, Adolfas Mekas, Shirley Clarke, Jud Yalkut, Peter Kubelka, Michael Snow, Richard Foreman, John Lennon, Yoko Ono...

"Since 1950 I have been keeping a film diary. I have been walking around with my Bolex and reacting to the immediate reality: situations, friends, New York, seasons of the year. On some days I shoot ten frames, on others ten seconds, still on others ten minutes. Or I shoot nothing.... Walden contains material from the years 1964-1968 strung together in chronological order." - Jonas Mekas

"Jonas Mekas's films celebrate life. They rise up against the world's overwhelming commercialism, attempting instead to revive the pleasures of friendship, a first snowfall or the return of Spring. Mekas's genius stems from his generously including the viewer in his vision of the world, allowing us to (re)discover, in a simple image, the incredible force and necessity of poetry." - Yann Beauvais

I just finished my Bachelor project - a short animated trailer for a fictional education tv-series.

The internet has established itself as a repository of knowledge. The lion’s share of the world’s knowledge, experience and information resides on server farms and can be accessed by anyone at any time.

The work focuses on the shift of knowledge onto the internet and a question that arises from that shift: What will we still want to know when all information is permanently available?

The product is a two-minute trailer for an animated series on this theme of the transfer of knowledge. I am responsible for the script, the general form, the coordination of everyone involved and the project realisation.

Through an emotional grandfather/grandson relationship, the trailer illustrates how the transfer of knowledge has changed in the last three generations. At the same time, it deals with the difference between analogue and digital knowledge.
