The "Canadian Pacific Holiday Train" is a tradition. Running from Coast to Coast collecting food and monetary contributions for the far too numerous food banks across the land.
It's also a party; people turn out in droves at whichever spot the train stops and get into the festive spirit.
Within easy reach the one day are Revelstoke, Sicamous and Salmon Arm. I could have added Notch Hill, but it was getting late and it was on the cold side.
Besides, filming the train through the Notch Hill Loop wouldn't have the same effect at night as during the day.
A small disappointment was the wind at Three Valley Gap - the reflections of all the lights in the water would have been super .... but it was not to be.
