  4. A short version of the earlier Sampler. This has been made for the SIFE UNE entry in the national competition for Students In Free Enterprise. The UNE team used this as part of their presentation in July 2012. It has also been an important advocacy tool in their campaign to get support to run the project statewide. The 2014 team have toured the state running Registration days - their work has been acknowledged in State parliament as vitally important.
Another example of community groups finding a new use for digital media.

A very large percentage of the kids at the school do not have Birth Certificates, and many have been unregistered - a national issue with Aboriginal families.

This suite of videos was created to support a pilot project run by a group of students from the University of New England who are members of an international organisation for Students in Free Enterprise, now known as Enactus. The UNE team organised a Birth Certificate Registration Day for children attending Minimbah School, in November of 2011. The UNE group had been working for a number of years , in a volunteer capacity with the school and had embarked on a financial literacy project with the kids there only to discover that many of them didn't have a Birth Certificate. THis vitally important document is essential for the opening of bank accounts and so the Enactus team set about to have as many of the Minimbah kids registered for free. The success of this project, as the students collaborated with the community, has lead to a project that has now spread across NSW with Registration days being held in many regional centres. The Enactus team have built a project from local level to one that is acknowledged and supported at state level. SVM was one of the initial collaborators and supporters - the three short pieces were screened continuously throughout the day as part of the festivities. The longer piece, that partly documents the day, has been used by Enactus to promote their venture and as leverage for funding and support for the ongoing project. In keeping with the spirit of the project, the filming was also done collaboratively - Inverell high school students on work experience - Liam & Matilda along with Brianna, a film student from AFTVS contributed to the shooting of the clips.
