Inspired by the old Charles Atlas comic book ads, "The Insult That Made a Man Out of Mac," we created a promotional video for W3DevCampus—online professional training for HTML5 and app developers through the W3C and sponsored by Intel. With an upcoming launch at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we needed to attract developer attention on the show floor, build awareness for the training, match existing "exercise" themed creative, clearly explain the benefits and close with a clear call to action. We hit the target with comic inspired visuals, a quirky story and brought it home with an 80s montage.
For the launch of the Crosswalk Open Source Runtime, Kinetic Story developed this video targeted towards analysts and business influencers to highlight the industry need for an open source runtime for Web apps and introduce the Crosswalk effort. Key challenges included lack of a visual or brand identity for the product at the time of launch. Kinetic Story interviewed the development team to understand key messages and identify audience end actions, developed the script and high-level creative concept, provided executive production and project management, and contracted with Soulmoto to provide art direction and motion graphics. The team later collaborated to revise the video with updated brand identity and revised messaging to more specifically target app developers. See the revised video at vimeo.com/138021329
Revision of a previous launch video, updating look and feel to match new brand identity for the Crosswalk Open Source project and a new voice over to better target app developers as opposed to analysts and business influencers. Kinetic Story provided creative direction, script development, executive production and project management and contracted with Soulmoto to provide art direction and motion graphics. A "happy faces" video created for an Intel Software and Services Group employee meeting. The goal of the project was to capture the activities and energy of SSG employees as the supported the group's presence at the 2013 Intel Developer Forum. Produced with a limited budget, Kinetic Story captured run-n-gun video footage from the event including short employee interviews and B-roll, then tied it together with a narrative script.
Testimonial video for Intel Cloud Services Platform. The goal of the project was to help Intel employees understand the vision for Intel Cloud Services and to emphasize the importance of "Identity" as a key component of cloud-based services. Kinetic Story worked with Intel stakeholders to identify key messages; developed a narrative script and motion graphics to explain technical details; and merged it with testimonial footage from Peter Biddle, general manager of the Intel Cloud Services platform; resulting in an informative, authentic and engaging explanation of Intel's support for cloud-focused developers.
