The Hubber is the 1st eco-friendly ski/snowboard helmet on the market, 100% made of recycled and bio-sourced materials.
Picture wants to show that it's possible to design efficient and good looking helmet with a low environmental footprint. Thus, 100% of the liner is made out of recycled EPS (Expandable Polystyrene) collected from leading Japanese auto makers. Second, the outer shell is made out of PLA (polylactic acid), a polymer derived from corn, a renewable ressource. Finally, ear pads and lining are made of recycled polyester from PET bottles.
The new industrial process we are using is a revolution in an industry where 30% of production raw material is trashing.
Beside the choice of materials, it is the design allowing with a full disassembly of the components for recycling at the end of the helmet’s life that makes this product really innovative.
At Picture, we have strong guidelines : one of them is to produce all our products with a minimum 50% recycled or organic materials. We wanted few years ago to launch helmets. We did not. We did not find the right sourcing and the right supplier to produce them in an eco-friendly way. Now, we found them and this is all clear with our values.
Thus, we give to opportunity to consumers to be more responsible by getting a ski and snowboard helmet which is 100% made of recycled and bio-sourced materials, something unique on the market. We also want to show that it will be always possible to innovate in an eco friendly way, by finding new solutions of recyclability.
All levels skiers and snowboarders from 15 to 45 years old will be able to rock the Hubber Helmet.
