In this tutorial, I show you how to make a spinning glass block animation with Cinema 4D, Mograph and refraction. It's based on an animation by Lumiere Studios. Stay tuned for part 2 of the tutorial where we bring the final render in after effects and do the final composite.
Freeband Communication and IIPIC shared a vision of the future: a world in which information and communication technology render one’s surroundings into a thinking and caring environment. We were asked to create a compelling film in which the results of the Freeband Communication research program are visualized.
We decided to use infographics to explain the vast quantities of data. To create a relationship with the continuing technology, the film starts with a minimalistic introduction in a narrow color spectrum, which gradually transitions to an abundant, multicolored world.
Seasons is a surreal motion graphics animation based on the changing seasons. Beginning with spring, the richly hued illustrations in this work come alive as they transform in color and rhythmic tempo to reveal the full seasonal spectrum.
Software: After Effects, Cinama 4D, Maya(Goldfish and Jellyfish)
This is the perfect opportunity for a Carl Sagan quote:
"Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known."
The footage in this little film was captured by the hardworking men and women at NASA and The European Space Agency with the Cassini Imaging Science System. If you're interested in learning more about Cassini and the on-going Cassini Solstice Mission, check it out at NASA's website:
