  3. Coke Bust is a straight edge band from Washington, D.C.

Coke Bust pretty much single-handedly holds down the D.C. hardcore scene today. They mix stomping breakdowns and gruff vocals with endless pounding blast beats by prolific drummer Chris Moore (Six Fix, Magrudergrind, Disciples of Christ). You might think they are "just another straight edge band," but they have thoughtful lyrics about the degradation of workers, resistance to the system, and real personal hardships. Even their classic song and first E.P., "Fuck Bar Culture" critiques culture rather than individual actions. Anyway, the point is that this band rips, and keeps it real, and they tour a lot as well as have put out a lot of great records, so don't miss out.

This show was on their tour in support of their new 9-song LP, "Confined" put out by their own Grave Mistake Records (and Refuse Records in Europe). The show also featured Growing Stronger from Seattle, as well as local Olympia bands Wet and Adjustment To Society. On this tour they also played This Is Not A Step Fest in Berkeley, CA, along with Los Crudos, Punch, No Statik, Talk Is Poison, Hysterics, Constatine Sankathi, and others.
