This is a short test with the tripod in the same spot switching between prime lenses to show how the crop affects the 7D. The subject, ace stand in Chris Clement, was roughly five feet from the camera. This isn't meant to be an aesthetic test to show the difference in image quality between the two cameras. It's a down and dirty field guide for myself and the other shooters we work with so we can quickly figure what lens we want to use on each camera.
We go from 20mm all the way to 100mm with a Lensbaby composer thrown in at the very end.
I wanted to do a very similar test and see for myself how these two cameras performed side by side.
Low light clips are shown in pairs - e.g 500 and 640.
I didn't want to film using every ISO value available, but just to compare the differences. This because You can notice that there is more noise when using ISO 500 instead of 640. You can call me lazy :D

My brief review of my c300..
I'm loving the form factor, built in ND's, dynamic range, detail and low light of the sensor. Not concerned with the release c500 or the 4k 1d cinema camera. By the time they actually come out I will have paid off the c300.
Another note on the new releases-external recording a pain for 98% of the work I do and I don't need 4K yet.
The only beefs I have with the c300 are... I wish I could assign a single button to change to a preset frame rate/resolution.
Lack of an internal mic for scratch audio/synching. That would help me with keeping things super lightweight for a monitor/xlr free setup using external audio recorders- I do attach a videomic pro to the mic in for a scratch track at the moment.
Also this was an expensive camera.
