Broadcast on Channel O, this thrilling event was brought to life with powerful coverage of the rapid-fire choreography, and behind-the-scenes interviews with the crews. The climatic final saw IDA going up against Clinch Crew, with the former out-dancing their rivals, and claiming the coveted crown.

We did exactly this with Bar One Manhunt, pitting 16 of the toughest and fittest South African guys against each other in a journey stretching from Mzansi to Argentina, all the while testing them physically and mentally. With each leg, one contestant was eliminated until one man was left standing, winning R1 million in cash and prizes…and the title of The Ultimate Bar One Man.

In 2015 J&B wanted to drive the J&B Met as a campaign, and not just an event so we were tasked with bringing the J&B Met theme, ‘Made For The Mix’ to life in a way that spoke to the brand’s involvement in fashion and music. We developed a 3-month campaign that started prior to the race event with an original TV show on eTV. We were also on air for 13 weeks on MTV Base, creating branded inserts and a viewer engagement competition for The Official SA Top 10. The week after the race, the J&B Met took over MTV’s ‘The Weekend Takeover’ format, filling the weekend schedule with inserts and a half-hour doccie looking back at the event. In all we created over 50 unique pieces of content that were broadcast across 3 channels, using culturally relevant celebs, music platforms and fashion to reinforce J&B’s alignment with these worlds.

  5. We were asked to act as production partner on Johnnie Walker’s local take on the internationally acclaimed short film ‘The Wager’, starring Jude Law. For this version we got Gugu Zulu, Vusi Thembekwayo and F1 legend Mika Häkkinen involved in a racing bet that pitted Vusi against the former Formula One World Champion. Our shoot took us from Kyalami to underground garages to Sports Science institutions as Vusi trained for his big day. In the end it was down to the wire. We’re not going to spoil it by telling you who won…but we will say that the campaign picked up a Bronze Loerie in the Branded Content Video Campaign category.
