Fragments from Thursday's skischool morning with me as teacher and from Friday's medal ceremony. Camerawork is a bit shaky. A point-and-click camera held while skiing ... But the idea is to give an impression of the atmosphere during the ski lessons.
Friday's slalom run at the Swiss Ski School (ESS) of Champéry, Portes-du-Soleil, Switzerland. Our 8 yo daughter does her best. And likewise for the cameraman (me) in trying to catch up as I start my pursuit a little late.
This is a run down the Portes du Soleil slope of Linga. My 8 yo daughter in the yellow jacket is following me. This year she has shown marked progress in her skiing and I'm not holding back on this run. This film was compiled from 2 runs with the GoPro helmet cam once on the front of my head and the other on the back.
Note the run was hard and icy in places. You can hear this from time to time. We'll be back in February to improve our time ;-)
In the "Super Noirs" opposite Avoriaz. Holding the camera in one hand was not easy. Note the beginning was particularly icy and covered in 'rocks of ice' (hence the complaining in the background as we drop into the run).
