The process for this work was to transcode the amplitude of the 6 soundtracks into keyframes in the range of 1 to 3. Then using Excel to progressively add each new keyframe to the sum of the previous key values. This was then applied to Z rotation in Maya with Nhair trailing off the six cylinders. Paint effect were stroked on the Nhair curves and all tweaked. Those frames were imported into After Effects with a simple Time Blend FX > Hue Saturation > Time Blend FX placed on the rendered channels.
