The endgame has finally arrived for activists who have been working hard to boot Republican Governor Scott Walker from office. The recall election has resulted from volunteers who gathered over a million signatures against Walker and his pro-austerity agenda. On Tuesday, last minute campaigning was seen everywhere, in what analysts call a very tight race. The push to recall Walker came months after he took office last year...when he attempted to take away collective bargaining rights for state employees. Wisconsinites took to the streets of Madison for weeks, in the biggest protests the state had seen since the civil rights era. Activists say Walker was bought by the billionaire Koch brothers and that he has no interest in benefiting the common worker. Governor Walker’s recall is just one of 103 happening across the country this year.
