  2. This is Mr Tim Tribble the music teacher giving an amazing lesson on history of musical instruments used through the centuries.

This one is common from Scotland all the way to Persia and India.

  3. The weekend in Edingurgh Festival was near end when we visited the Edinburgh Castle and met Tim Tribble.

The Gurdy was developed from an instrument called an Organistrum, created in northern spain, which was used to help monks sing and understand music theory. The derives from the practise of playing the tune in 4ths or 5ths called Organum, which this instrument could do easily by the fact that the strings are played at the same time with wooden tangents.

My Gurdy is a copy of an instrument painted by Heronius Bosch, called the garden of earthly delight. In which he painted this instrument in the panel for Evil, maybe a sign of his feelings for the instrument.
