1. When Newsweek commissioned Art Streiber to shoot its Mad Men cover story, he proposed expanding on the concept for the magazine's iPad edition. His idea was to animate the stills he shot of the series' cast to create the motion cover you see here.

    Art worked with Hugh Milstein and Tim Wilcox at Digital Fusion, and the retoucher was Angie Hayes at the Happy Pixel Project. Newsweek's creative director is Dirk Barnett; the photography director is Scott Hall.
