I recently decided to sell my Canon 1D C as it felt like too much money was wrapped up in a camera that lacked some basic video features. My plan was to get a couple C100s, but then I started reading about the Sony a7s. So on a whim, I decided to plunge into that camera. I got a few bodies along with the Metabones mkiii adapters. After the first wedding, I was skeptical and wasn't a big fan of the screen. But then we flew to Antigua to shoot for Sandals and during those three days of shooting I really fell for the camera. In this video I show some of the different picture profiles, I compare some footage to Canon footage, and pixel peep at the sharpness of the video.
Updated: I've added more to the review based on some requests. I've added some high ISO comparison tests between the mkiii and a7s, some high ISO tests with the different picture profiles, and some slow motion sharpness tests. I think the 120fps footage will impress you.
