This story aired on the series "Arts InSight" in 2013 and was awarded a Lone Star Emmy for Arts Feature Segment. It was also Emmy-nominated in the craft editing category and was the cornerstone of my 2013 photography reel which was Emmy-nominated in the craft photography category. I shot the story at Michael's studio in two hours and edited the story over the course of two days on FCP7. If I had to choose one story that I've ever done to demonstrate the quality of my work, I think this would be the one.
This is a story I shot and edited for the program "Arts InSight" featuring speed-painter Dan Dunn. I shot the interview and the footage of his Lady Liberty performance in his warehouse/studio over the course of ninety minutes, and cut the story in one day on FCP7. The story is filled out by plenty of stock footage that Dan generously provided. This story was awarded the 2014 Lone Star Emmy for Outstanding Arts Segment.
This is a story I edited for the series "Arts InSight" featuring musician/performance artist DBR and his performance piece entitle "En Masse." I shot the footage of the marching band performance at Discovery Green, while colleagues shot the interview with DBR and the rehearsal days. The biggest challenge editing this was presented by a camera malfunction which made the interview shot and much of the b-roll of DBR interacting with students soft and unusable. I had to figure out a way to cover the first minute or two of this story without having much footage to use, so I relied on still images and use of 'boxes' to shrink the video elements that were too soft to be full-screen.
I shot and edited this story for the weekly series "Arts InSight" about a local cemetery that is the final resting place of many prominent Houstonians, including Howard Hughes, while also being a fascinating spot to visit for admirers of sculptural art. This story was nominated for a Lone Star Emmy in the Texas Heritage category in 2015.
