Ruin Me featured original artwork- prints of people, paintings of land, sea & sky, photographs of a salary and drawings of nature that were destroyed by the people who came to the opening night.

Near each artwork, suspended from the ceiling were the implements that the visitors used to ruin each piece: scissors, pens, markers, a saw, corkscrew and hammer.

The ruined artworks were for sale and priced less than the cost of the materials used to produce them.

Throughout the night, an original score by Scott Weiser was presented and also ruined.

  2. 16, the series debut, was a collaboration with fellow San Francisco artist Betty Blake which culminated in an exhibition on November 4, 2006.

It was an examination of adolescence and the adult society it reflects as pieces from the artists' past were repurposed and 'framed' through their adult perspectives.

The process of putting on this show was ultimately a repetition of how the original artwork was made- debuting in the art world was eerily similar to coming of age as a teenager.

This clip is a compilation of images from the 14th piece. Titled 'Dark Side', viewers peered down a tube to watch looping video footage of a movie and music, made by Betty during adolescence.

This clip is a sound recording of Betty's performance, which was available to listeners all night at a listening station. Titled 'Dream', Betty reads an account from a dream she had while she was a teenager.

This clip is a video taken during the 7th performance piece of the evening. Titled 'Breakup', I removed the string connecting my figures in #13 : Enmity ≥ Amity. The process took longer and was more embarrassing than expected, much as breakups are in real-life.
