Able and disabled people from eight different European countries came to London to explore JOS (Joy of Sound) approaches to inclusive music making in the “human idiomatic”. William Longden, founder and director of JOS reflects about the session with Hannah James, a Joy of Sound volunteer and trained co-facilitator who was born with cerebral palsy, is non-verbal and a wheelchair user. The dialog is based on quotes from Hannah’s poems that she composed using assistive technology, and given as feedback to the session.
