1. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the new reel.

90% of this was made in the past 16 months, 2011-2012. Mostly done with After Effects, with a touch of Photoshop and Flash. All design, animation and direction in the reel by me. For more work, head over to bombsfall.com.

Thanks to everyone who made the work and, by extension, my life possible- friends, colleagues, clients and inspirations. Couldn't do any of this without you. Here's to another good couple of years together.

Music is one of my favorite songs: "Kid" by The Bouncing Souls, off the album Hopeless Romantic.

  3. A story about growing up in the universe.

A music video for the band Rendezvous, made February-March 2011. They pretty much gave me carte blanche to do whatever I wanted to do, and this is what came out.

A long write up about it may be found here. You might find it interesting.

  4. I have dug up the zoetrope, a pre-cinema optical toy, and am using it to create and explore a visual language of loops and spirals. When spun, the complex circular sculptures, dubbed cinetropes, are a blur to the human eye but come to full animated life when viewed through shutter glasses or the lens of a fast-shutter video camera. The Bellows March runs anthropomorphized concertinas through a cycle of destroy-create-destroy, and bridges digital and physical animation processes via 3-D printed, hand-painted cinetropes.

Visually and aurally mesmerizing. It is rare to see something this unique and well-realized.

  5. Driven by the music of David Lynch and Chrysta Bell, Bird of Flames is a meditation on the enigmatic nature of love. In a small nightclub, a magician (Minh Tran) coaxes a beautiful chanteuse (Chrysta Bell) to perform like a living doll. In the audience, a young man falls in love with her archetypal image of feminine beauty.

“(The video) will definitely freak you out.” -Spinner

2012 Woodstock Film Festival, 2013 Ann Arbor Film Festival, 2013 Portland International Film Festival, 2012 Northwest Filmmakers Festival (Best Experimental Short).

Producers Tsui Ling Toomer and Michel Jackson / DP Kevin Fletcher / Production Designers Sol Burbridge and Greg Arden / Colorist Jalal Jemison / Creative Consultant Laura McGie.
