This is the first of a series of five tutorials on RotoPaint created by Howard Jones, Head of Visual Effects at Twenty4d VFX (twenty4d.com). In this first installment Howard gives us a basic introduction to roto'ing in Nuke.
Personal project.. made with the Dancing Cie : Herve Koubi (france) and his dancers coming from Algeria...
I filmed with a Panasonic Lumix GH1 and also a Canon hv40 and i did the Color grade in after fx and editing was made in FCP.
Shoot in just one day, with incredibles dancers.. totaly improvised, my only aim was to compare soft bodies against straight lines of that architecture, and give the feeling that these peoples are in first place, constraints ,then gradually return to wild.
