1. Poetry has always been a mystery to me. Is it because I am not a gifted reader or am I too much of a scientific person?
When my wife, Ellen Cuylaerts, told me some of my footage was poetry in her eyes, she encouraged me to reach out to poems through my films. I immediately understood her vision was bright, challenging and refreshing.
I often shoot and edit my images in a poetic way, so the similarities became apparent.
Thus came to life my newest production: “Poetry eMotion”. Need I say this self-explaining project combines the deep emotion of raw poetry with the motion of the deep.
This first installment, “Byron Beholds Kona”, was shot entirely in Kona, Hawaii on a special expedition we made with very dear friends.
I saw spinner dolphins playing cheerfully, soaring the sea, observing us with a child's curiosity as a beautiful contrast to the roving, feeding mantas at night.
