"High Sierra - A Journey on the John Muir Trail" premiered on January 14th, 2011 at the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival in Nevada City, CA.

This is a 6 minute piece I produced from an end to end hike of the JMT in the Summer of '08.
It features 5 high school students from Chapel Hill, NC and their experience along the trail. We took 16 days at about 15 miles of hiking per day to hike all 220 miles from Yosemite Valley south to Mt. Whitney. We had one resupply at Vermilion Resort where the group cleaned out the small store there trying to stock up with 9 days of food.

It was shot on a Sony A1U with stills by Brian Burnham using a Canon 40D.

    Music is by Leon Godwin.

  4. I shot two panning timelapses, hours apart, and blended them together very crudely.

I'm going to see if I can make the blend a little better with After Effects.

  5. Some of my shots from Acadia National Park in Maine. Shot mostly hand held, which is why it is shaky in some shots. There are some shots from my glidecam, but I didn't take it with me while hiking. Even then, I only took the camera on a few trails.

Shot on the Panasonic HMC-150. Edited in Edius Neo 2.

Images below are raw stills from the video.

    Thanks for watching!
