Here it is, the trailer for the documentary feature, "Wanda the Wonderful"! She had four husbands, but she only shot one of them…This is a film about a 1920’s era gun slinging wild-woman, Wanda, who took the one skill her father taught her - shooting - and turned it into her means of escape.
This is a short film I made, "The Dreaded Beard". It features Matt Winch as the hapless pognophobic fellow pursued by the beards, and a voice over by famed musician James McMurtry. I shot the film MOS on 35mm B&W film with my prism viewfinder Eyemo camera fitted with a Nikon mount. We shot the film in Brooklyn.
"Small Gauge Blow-up" is a film about Cineric Lab in New York City, and their work doing optical blow-ups of small gauge films. I co-directed this with Simon Lund who wrote it, and I shot it all on Super-8 reversal film, with my Nizo for the timelapse and a Beaulieu for the sync. Because the film was rated so low for daylight (50 ASA if I remember correctly) we had to simply blast the HMI's to get exposure, which gives it that 1950's info doc feel. The rhythm in the soundtrack is made from recordings of the Oxberry Optical printer itself.
