My first run down this Asheville area classic. Great crew consisting of our fearless leader Stephen McGrady, the smooth twins Andrew Holcombe and Al Gregory, David Cohen and myself. The gage below the run read 1000 cfs.
Got off work at 5:00 at the take out for the Upper Rocky Broad in Bat Cave N.C. at 5:30 headed up for an evening run. We were back at the cars around 7:45. 4.7 is a good level, I would call it medium low. The river seems like it will happily hold a bunch more water and just make the run "more fun". We talked with a crew who did it the day before with "double the water" and they said it was grippy but awesome! 4.7 seems like a great level to do both the Upper and Lower in the same day.
Another after work special with John Kiffemeyer and an errant North Fork of the Payette regular Connor. We showed him some special lines!
The Green has been running 200% for the last several weeks. The lake level this evening was 100.4. The gauge reading was a healthy 22". This video also shows the new wood at the bottom Zwick's and the top of Rapid Transit, as of 5/5/2013.
