1. We invite you to join in this uplifting 6 minutes of sharing in song as we go around the world; as the world turns we invite you think of the different people in each area and offer prayers for them.

Next, we join together in prayer and praise to God as we read Psalm 100 in six languages and by multiple generations. Please add in additional languages of your own!

The music here, which we hope you will join us in singing, is provided by Phoebe Spier and Dean Phelps: "Jesus Loves the Little Children," "Give Thanks," and "Weave."

DisciplesNet offers this video in thanksgiving to God for the people of the world; we believe that each and every one is God's beloved child, without exception. We especially give thanks for you who are reading this.

We also offer our deepest gratitude and appreciation to those who contribute to DisciplesNet Church, allowing us to share videos such as this one with you, and to continue to grow in quality and reach to the world-- sharing the Good News of God's love for all of the people of the world.

  2. Welcome to DisciplesNet Church, an internet church with walls as wide as the world, doors that are always open, and always room at the table.
This week's worship looks at the act of giving thanks, using the Luke 17 story of the persons with leprosy whom Jesus healed.

Worship #167 gives thanks in many ways, including connections to traditional Thanksgiving holidays; this week many in America and other lands will celebrate the time together with feasting and prayers of gratitude.
Also, as we do every week, we extend the invitation for you to join as we celebrate the Lord's Supper, also known as breaking of the bread, communion, and the Eucharist. We believe that it is Jesus Christ who invites God's children to the Table as a special, symbolic way of remembering him, so that all who would say "yes" to Christ's invitation may come in reverence and share in taking the bread and cup, either physically or in one's mind.

If you would like to share in communion physically, please have ready a piece of bread or similar food and some type of drink (we use grape juice, but other liquids including wine and water will work). These represent the broken body and the blood of Jesus Christ given on our behalf.

We hope that as you join us for worship you will feel a blessing from being part. Please help us spread the word about DisciplesNet Church, especially to those who are not able to attend a physical church.

    May God bless you richly!

    Please consider helping DisciplesNet grow:
DisciplesNet Church is a not-for-profit church with the vision of crossing barriers and boundaries to connect the world with the Good News of God's redeeming love. WWe rely on the gifts of our online viewers as we continue to grow and extend our nets around the world; such gifts have made it possible to share today's worship with you.
We extend the invitation to be part of the DisciplesNet ministry by giving either a one-time, or an ongoing gift, including a tithe (10%). Even the smallest of gifts, like the mustard seed, have a way of growing in amazing ways to share God's word and the love of Jesus Christ.

  4. DisciplesNet Worship #100, "How Do You Say 'Thanks?'" (Phelps, 09.02.2012)

We offer a special invitation to our 100th Worship Video. As we were preparing for this we felt profoundly grateful so it seemed natural to take Psalm 100 as our theme. You will see a number of our worship team members and some special guests helping read this in a memorable way.

Our message today looks at saying thanks to God, asking the question, “How do you say thanks?” Rev. Dr. Deb Phelps, our senior minister and founding pastor, brings this inspiring word.
One of our extraordinary blessings comes in this worship in the form of a meditation on gratitude, given for our DisciplesNet viewers by Rev. Dr. Fred Craddock, an old friend and mentor to members of our worship team, and one of many advisors who have helped DisciplesNet make sense of its vision since we got our start in 2010.

In addition to Psalm 100, we look at scripture from James 1:17,18, 25, and from Mark 7:5-7
Along with our message are favorite hymns, “Blessed Assurance,” “When You Do This,” and two versions of “GIve Thanks.
We are particularly grateful for those who gathered on August 24, 2012 at Allisonville Christian Church for our first Benefit Concert for DisciplesNet. Dean Phelps performed at the concert, and the Allisonville Praise Band led those present in singing, “Give Thanks.” The voices there are preserved for us to hear, and you can join them from whereever you are in the world.

Our worship includes a time of communion (breaking of the bread)--for which we extend the invitation given by Jesus Christ to all who would come. If you would like to share with us in this time at the table that passes all boundaries of place, time, and walls, then we ask that you prepare a wafer, cracker, or bread and a drink, and we ask that our blessing will extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, use a symbolic gesture or mental symbols of joining with us.

We hope you will join us for this short time of worship (29 minutes), and will be blessed by participating. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that never close, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.

If you would like to chat with one of our pastors, please email us at pastor@disciplesnet.org.
