In this tutorial, David Oldani shows how to generate a 360 environment in After Effects from an existing composition, using SkyBox with Trapcode Particular and Element 3D. The 360 environment is used as both a reflection and environment map, so a Trapcode animation is reflected perfectly onto an E3D statue. The plugins look like they are seamlessy integrated and inhabit the same space in Ae.
Mettle SkyBox is an Ae script/plugin to generate 360 Reflection/Environment Maps (equirectangular, cubic cross, spherical). The Maps can be used as Environment/Reflection Maps in Ae, in 3D Apps, and are the right format for youtube 360, VR, Dome projections and Gaming. To find out more: mettle.com/product/skybox/
In this tutorial, I'm going to break down my workflow of how I created some cool, stylized, cartoon style 2D splats using just standard tools inside of Cinema 4D. First I'll show you my initial setup and a couple of different ways you can animate the splatter. Next, I'll show you how I got the splatter effect using a combination of tools like Metaball and the Melt Object. Then I'll show you how to tweak the splat setup to get different types of splats by simply adjusting a few parameters. Finally, I'll show you how to animate it with only a couple keyframes to make it look like a realistic splat.
