This promotional film was commissioned through photographer Stephen Hayward - stephenhayward.com.
Along with Stephen, we provided two cameramen (on a Sony FS700 and a Canon C300) and our project co-ordinator to film the press launch of the Goodwood Driving Experience (powered by BMW). We also used our two GoPro 3+ Black Editions to film the on-board footage.
Sarjit Bains edited the film, including all grading and visual effects, on one of our in-house Avid Media Composers.
Despite a very wet shoot, the promo highlights the excitement of the experience along with the outstanding hospitality that Goodwood provides.
From the Odd Man Out archive, this product marketing film of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage was created in 2008 for the 2009 model year.
We stayed on in Germany having filmed the 2008 Nürburgring 24 hour race for Aston Martin.
With minimal time for location scouting, we set up a temporary studio in the Aston Martin Test Centre to film the interiors and we shot the exteriors with two performance drivers over two days in the roads around the 'Ring.
Post-production included number plate replacement and grading.
Another film from the Odd Man Out archive of 2010. It was commissioned by the Halliday family as a present for the late Mr Don Halliday and shows this very rare racing Alfa Romeo undertaking its first race for many years at a historic meeting at the iconic Monza circuit in the north of Italy.
The car was driven for the weekend by Don's daughter, show jumper and racing driver Liz, a far cry from her usual racing experience of driving prototype racing sports cars.
Unfortunately the car never got to race at this weekend because of mechanical problems. However it demonstrates our practice of always filming during qualifying sessions in case that happens.
Filmed by Christopher Smith and edited in-house by Christopher Gavin. Many thanks to John Danby Racing and Heather Stirling for their help and, of course, to Deborah Halliday for commissioning the film.
