This death isn’t a typical one. There’s no funeral, no mourning, no sadness at all. In fact, it’s the
beginning of life more fully than you’ve ever known it. This death…is the death of self.
"Self Destruct" is a personal project of mine. I really wanted to depict the issue of death to self in a way we haven't seen before. I wanted to see this raw tension between darkness and light come to life.
I shoot with a Canon 7D and T2i/550D, typically using 18-55mm. $0 budget. The skateboarding shots were Twixtored down to 6000fps (1%) in After Effects.
Thanks Jonathan Rios, Dan Stevers, Salomon Ligthelm, Rickard Bengtsson, danDifelice, God and all the 7D shooters out there for the inspiration.
