With blogging being the centre point of digital marketing, business owners are able to educate their clients and the search engines about their value proposition. Building community online requires conversations. Word of mouth advertising has always been the best form of marketing. Social media has allowed word of mouth to be almost instantaneous. Search engines use these signals (amongst others) to rank your website.

Your website is therefore the hub of your social web presence and it's conversion is dependent upon design and lead capture. You have 3 seconds to capture the web visitors attention and answer the pressing question - what is in it for me? Don't make your audience think, give them a reason to click and engage with you.

The final piece of the puzzle is of course, customer relationship management (CRM). Your online tools should be interconnected and lead each interaction to a CRM entry. A social CRM will track your conversations, allow for email marketing campaigns and move prospects through your buy-in funnel. Once a lead becomes a client, the followup is key. Again your CRM is crucial to maintaining your customer relationships.
