This is a video from the 8th annual Santa Fe Trail Jam from 7/21/2012. These kids braved the hot New Mexico desert and went hard until they either broke themselves or the sun went down. Daniel has the place looking great. Santa Fe has some world class dirt jumps and is one of biking's best kept secrets.
This is the top-to-bottom run in it's entirety, as filmed from Rob's helmet. Sorry for the black bars, I set it to encode overnight at the wrong setting...so it goes.
There is the option (on non-race days) to ride just the Super-D section - at just about 3:30, the upper line connects with the XC line that it shares for the last several minutes. If one were so inclined, they could pop out to the fire road and go back up to just ride that section.
A few years after the fires in San Diego Rich "Godfather" Strang and I drove down to help Bender rebuild the old trail and begin some a new trail. For five days we worked on the trails, with some help from a handful of volunteers. The end result is a trail system that is fun from top to bottom, and built to last.
