I've always been a fan of Miyazaki and Howl's Moving Castle has been one of my favourite films by him. So I decided to do a little tribute to the inspiring man as he announces his retirement this year. I used Maya to model it and Arnold to render it. Arnold proxies were used extensively through the scene, especially for the grass, and it definitely made working with large amounts of polygons fast and efficient. Responsible for all aspects except for concept.

Flow is a MA graduation project made by Mathijs Demaeght at RITS School Of Arts, Belgium. The short uses both 2D and 3D techniques.
" A mourning girl makes an unexpected friend when a white wolf takes her through a mysterious portal on a journey to confront her grief. A journey about loneliness, grief, friendship and love all in one big flow. "
Haring tells the tale of Diederik, a guy who makes the mistake of eating a herring right before a date. When he finds out his fishy breath destroys everything in its path, he does his best to get rid of the smell, while also trying to reach his date in time.
Haring was made with the collaboration from the Netherlands Film Fund, SNS Reaal and Pathé and was made for the 2014 UltraKort program. The film screened in front of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" in all Dutch Pathé cinemas.
